2.15.09 – Thunder, lightning, hail, snow and rain battered down as we cheered during the VELOVE GoldSprints. It was an intensely grueling battle for all. Alright, I lied about the lightning and all that, but we did stand in the pouring rain for six awesome hours as we watched SJF members, Maurice, Tim, Keith and Matt, take top 4 in the mens final Goldsprints.

Witnessing pro-roadies in action during the Tour of California was also pretty damn exciting. Although, after hours and hours of frozen/numb extremities, things can get a little “old.” Still, The rush from seeing the peloton, including support vehicles and fans, passing by, is still definitely worth the wait. Yes, it’s true, Lance Armstrong is back, I saw him with my very own eyes.

The Broakland stunt crew came out at the end of Goldsprints for an exhibition of some of the latest tricks to come from the streets of the bay. These guys are seriously putting down some sick tarck shit while making it look effortless. No handed, 1 leg, barspinning, wheelies? Sure. 1500* Keo’s? Ok! Venti Smoothies? In the rain? Here you go! These guys put together a great show to end a gloomy wet numb Sunday afternoon.
