2.16.09 – Santa Cruz California was the host of the stage 2 finish of the Amgen Tour of California today. Thomas Peterson of Garmin Chipotle was accredited with the win of stage 2 today while Levi Leipheimer of Astanta gets the honor of wearing the yellow jersey for tomorrow’s stage 3 portion, which starts in San Jose.

Yes, that is Lance Armstrong in the photograph. He such a celebrity in the way he acts around fans. He stepped out of the Astana RV wearing a jacket, hat, and sunglasses to protect himself from the press. Many of the other pro-cyclists were more comfortable with dealing with the public with some even changing out of their kits in the open. You really can’t blame him though, there are probably only about a billion people watching Lance Armstrong at any given moment.
