2.15.09 – Thunder, lightning, hail, snow and rain battered down as we cheered during the VELOVE GoldSprints. It was an intensely grueling battle for all. Alright, I lied about the lightning and all that, but we did stand in the pouring rain for six awesome hours as we watched SJF members, Maurice, Tim, Keith and Matt, take top 4 in the mens final Goldsprints.

Witnessing pro-roadies in action during the Tour of California was also pretty damn exciting. Although, after hours and hours of frozen/numb extremities, things can get a little “old.” Still, The rush from seeing the peloton, including support vehicles and fans, passing by, is still definitely worth the wait. Yes, it’s true, Lance Armstrong is back, I saw him with my very own eyes.

The Broakland stunt crew came out at the end of Goldsprints for an exhibition of some of the latest tricks to come from the streets of the bay. These guys are seriously putting down some sick tarck shit while making it look effortless. No handed, 1 leg, barspinning, wheelies? Sure. 1500* Keo’s? Ok! Venti Smoothies? In the rain? Here you go! These guys put together a great show to end a gloomy wet numb Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to Murphy for another successful GoldSprints event and the Broakland crew for stuntin’. Just wait for it, GoldSprints is coming to SJ…

12.19.08 – Mojo Bike Cafe in San Francisco, CA. put together another GoldSprints event to try out the brand new GoldSprints system by Murphy Mack. SJF’s Photoshop master, Tim Tsuruda, posted an all day best of 18.717″ in the 500m and a 40.376″ in the 1000m to win the event. Congratulations to Tim and thanks to Murphy and Mojo Bike Cafe in San Francisco for setting up the event.

SJF riders take top 3 spots at RideSFO GoldSprints.

11.30.08. Congratulations to SJF rider’s Maurice, Devin and Tim for taking the top 3 spots, respectively, in the men’s GoldSprints finals at the RideSFO bikeswap at the Cow Palace this past weekend. The Fastest 500m time of the event, and the only person to break 18’s, went to Devin with an 18.99″. Maurice won the finals against Devin, in an all out 1000m death match, with a record breaking time of 39.62″. Congratulations once again to the SJFixers who came out to give everyone an epic show. Thanks to RideSFO for the bike swap and to Murphy for organizing the GoldSprints event.
